Meeting time: 09:00 – 09:30 CET
Meeting place: Pakhuis de Zwijger (same venue as the conference takes place)
What will you experience during the site visit?
The visit will take you to two locations:
- A boat tour through the Port of Amsterdam
- TMA terminal
Port of Amsterdam
The Port of Amsterdam tour is a unique cruise through the port area, introducing you to the rich past, dynamic present and innovative future of the Amsterdam port. We sail on the River Dream, a 36-metre long passenger ship with a spacious upper deck and an enclosed lower deck with a large panoramic window. The Amsterdam Port Cruise gives you a unique view of the port from the water and takes you to places that are normally only accessible to commercial shipping.
The visit to the TMA Terminal will give a good impression of the diversity of a multipurpose terminal where containers, rolling stock, breakbulk cargo and projects are transshipped. Emphasis will be placed on the handling of rail connections and the benefits of direct connection to Short Sea destinations. The TMA terminal is used by NUNNER Logistics as a trimodal turntable for its rail connections between North West Europe and China.
